Rachael is using Saxon Math, Mathematics CD roms and online math games.  Grade: 2 (S)
 
Reading: Rachael read the abridged edition of Shakespeare's MacBeth, and A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'Engle.  She also read three 500-600 page novels by Stephanie Meyer: "Twilight", "New Moon", and "Eclipse".  Over the summer she read "The Giver" and "Gathering Blue" by Lois Lowry.  Grade: 3 (G)
 
Spelling: Rachael corrects misspelled words and rewrites assignments so that spelling is correct throughout her work. Grade: 4 (E)
 
Writing, Grammar & Language Arts: Grade: This quarter Rachael has been using "Hot Words for the SAT" to study Vocabulary, and English Made Easy & Punctuation Made Easy for Grammar & Language Arts.  2 (G)
 
Health & Safety:  This quarter Rachael learned how to stay safe while using the internet, and how to avoid child predators who stalk minors online.  Grade: 4(E)
 
History:  Rachael went on a trip with our homeschool to Philadelpia and visited The Ben Franklin Institute Museum.  The homeschool prepared for the trip by reading and researching the history of Ben Franklin, Albert Einstein and the Wright Brothers. Exhibits featuring these important historical figures were very educational and entertaining.  In addition to the exhibits on Physics, Flight, & Electricity, were those on trains, sports, space travel, and optical illusions.  Grade: 3 (G)
 
Science:  Rachael went on a field trip with the homeschool to Camden, NJ, to The Children's Adventure Aquarium.  In preparation for the trip, Rachael read about and researched aquatic life and underwater ecosytems. Grade: 3 (G) 
 
Art: As always, Rachael is forever drawing in her free time, and developing incredible artistic skills, she's a natural and totally gifted in this area. Rachael has been learning about some of the great artists in history: Van Gogh, Michelangelo, Monet, and Picasso.  Grade: 4 (E)
 
Music:  Rachael continues to practice guitar, piano and fiddle. Grade: 4 (E)
 
Physical Education: Rachael has participated in running, games of tag, scootering, bike riding, skateboarding, walking and resistance workouts on the Total Gym. Grade: 4 (E)
 
Typing & Computer: Grade: 4 (E)
